The Sun revealed today that its former editor and resident columnist Kelvin MacKenzie is to appear on our screens in Marco Pierre White’s latest ITV cook off, Kitchen Burnout.
A reality TV show? Just a couple of weeks ago, MacKenzie proudly wrote in his column that he’d turned down £75,000 to appear on Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother.
His price tag for being cut off from the outside world for 26 days was closer to £375,000, he wrote. Apparently, the programme’s producers never got back to him after that.
So has ITV made a better offer or is MacKenzie feeling the January pinch just like everyone else?
