Good news for journalists on the FT which is reportedly ending its year-long pay freeze.
It is proposing a two per cent pay hike from 1 January and a new minimum salary for fully qualified senior journalists of £40,000.
FT managing editor Dan Bogler told staff in a memo reported by The Guardian: “It balances a decent reward for everyone’s efforts with a need to be careful about how we increase our fixed costs.”
The deal will now have to go the paper’s NUJ chapel for approval.
