Johnston Press is set to sell one of its Irish titles back to its previous owner an a “knockdown price” – the Irish Times reports.
The Tallaght-based Echo weekly newspaper is reportedly being sold to David Kennedy for 1m Euros. In 2005 Kennedy sold the Echo for 5m Euros to the Leinster Leader, which was shortly afterwards sold as part of the Leinster Leader group to Johnston for 138m Euros.
The Irish Times reports that all 12 of JP’s Irish newspaper are “on the blocks”.
