The Sunday Times has unveiled a major redesign, which takes advantage of publisher News International’s new full-colour printing presses.
The redesign, led by former Independent on Sunday editor Tristan Davies, sees the introduction of colour-coded sections, an expanded comment section and a new bespoke headline font (Sunday Times Modern) and body text font (Greta).
“We have not altered the basic architecture of the paper, or moved regular features around,” said editor John Witherow in a piece explaining the thinking behind the changes.
“We have tried to minimise disruption while using colour and new typefaces to give the Sunday Times a fresher and more vibrant look.”
