Staff at France’s daily evening newspaper, Le Monde, are to go on strike on Monday to protest against 130 planned job cuts making it likely the Tuesday edition will not make it to the newsstand.
Management at the heavily loss-making paper announced the cuts last week, which will result in including two-thirds in the newsroom staff being axed.
