The BBC has “taken the brunt” of a large number of Freedom of Information requests and become an unfair target, FoI campaigner Heather Brooke has told The Independent.
On Friday, three Court of Appeal judges ruled the BBC was not required under the Freedom of Information Act to publish an internal report into how it reported the Middle East.
“My real issue is secrecy of the government rather than media organisations,” Brooke told the paper. “I almost feel the BBC has taken the brunt of these disclosures.”
The Daily Mail claims the BBC has spent £250,000 on the epic legal battle. It says “anger is growing over the corporation’s secrecy, and the amount of money which has already been soaked up by the case”
