The BBC has denied that Question Time presenter Jonathan Dimbleby showed a bias against the corporation’s proposed move to Salford Quays this year.
Graham Stringer, MP for Blackley in Manchester, complained after an airing of the debate programme in October over Dimbleby’s comments that the move would be expensive.
Stringer is in favour of the move and felt Dimbleby, who was reacting to Work and Pensions Peter Hain’s view that it was a good idea, should have been more impartial.
According to Manchester Evening News political journalist and blogger David Ottewell, the MP has now received a reply from complaints co-ordinator Stewart McCulloch – an acknowledgement of his point but not an apology.

Ottewell quotes Stringer as saying: “I am pleased the BBC have responded to my complaint. They have accecpted that over a period of time the moce to Salford will save the BBC money.”
