The Reuters news agency this week opened a new multimedia London bureau in Aldgate.
More than 30 journalists covering UK money, political and general news for Reuters’ editorial in the UK, as well as a full TV operation, were moved from their previous offices at Kildare House, off Fleet Street
In the new building, the Reuters UK bureau staff will sit on the same floor as their colleagues at International Financing Review and Action Images – these businesses were formerly part of the Thomson group before it merged with Reuters in 2008 to form Thomson Reuters.
A spokeswoman for Reuters said: “The new space was built as a genuinely multimedia newsroom to help Reuters’ photographers, text reporters and television reporters [work] with ease.”
The news agency made the move, the spokeswoman added, to help improve access to the heart of the City.
The newsroom was officially opened by Lord Coe, head of the London 2012 Games organising committee, earlier this week.
