Archant Norfolk has appointed David Powles, former news editor with its Norwich Evening News, as a senior content editor.
In his new role Powles will work alongside Peter Hannam, who has also been appointed as a senior content editor, in Archant’s merged Norwich newsroom overseeing the Norwich Evening News and Eastern Daily Press.
Archant Norfolk announced last year that it was to merge the newsrooms of the two Norwich-based titles and their associated weeklies.
Over the last two months Powles, who started in his new post this week, has worked on development of the merged newsroom, implementing plans for multi-media integration.
In their new roles, Powles and Hannam will report Peter Waters, editor of Eastern Daily Press and Tim Williams, editor of Evening News.
Paul Durrant, former deputy editor of the Eastern Daily Press then senior content editor at Archant Norfolk, was made redundant from by the publisher earlier this month.
