Conor Dignam, Emap’s former director of digital content, has become editor of Screen International, the group’s weekly film industry magazine.
Dignam replaces Mike Gubbins, editor since 2004, who has gone freelance. The role of director of digital content at Emap will not be filled directly.
Emap Inform chief executive Simon Middelboe told Press Gazette the role was specifically created for the “roll-out” of a new content management system, Webvision, across the group and it was no longer a full-time job.
Lauretta Roberts, editor of the fashion magazine Drapers and an Emap group editor, will take on extra responsibility.
Dignam, former editor and publishing director of Broadcast, has previously edited Marketing, Media Week, and Ad Age Global.
As well as editor of Screen International and website Screendaily.com, he is group editor of Emap’s other media titles, Broadcast and Shots.
Dignam said: “Screen is a fantastic brand and I’m really excited about the opportunities we have, both with the magazine and Screen Daily.
“The film industry is going through enormous change and Screen has a vital role in reporting and making sense of that change.”
