The Los Angeles-based photographer who quit his job at news agency Splash in protest against the paparazzi’s hounding of Britney Spears has joined LA’s Crocmedia News agency as chief photographer and picture editor.
Nick Stern, who told Press Gazette he thought his decision to quit Splash in February would render him unemployable in LA, will also oversee the building of the agency’s new photo department.
Crocmedia was set up in September 2007 by Australian journalist James Swanwick who works out of New York and LA. It provides celebrity news, gossip and interviews mainly to the UK and Australian media.
Stern said: ‘I’m looking forward to working with a new progressive agency that puts quality journalism high on its agenda.”
Stern, who formerly ran his own London-based agency First News, has been a freelance photographer for 15 years, covering show business, civil unrest, people trafficking, child prostitution and immigration.
