The York Press has claimed it was the first newspaper to print pictures of the accident in which Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond was badly injured while trying to break the British land speed record.
The accident happened on an old wartime airfield just outside York where Press photographer Nigel Holland got exclusive still pictures of ambulance crews dealing with the accident.
When the paper hit newsstands, the photographs were released to Sky News, which, as part of the deal struck, released video footage from a helicopter showing the crash scene.
The paper used Sky's footage in its report of the story on its website.
