The Opinion Leader Panel was asked when thinking generally about news,
where they would turn to first for news on a major national or
international event.
Compared to a similar survey in October 2004 which asked the same
question, the proportion of the panel saying it would turn to BBC News
24 first has increased from 11 per cent to 15 per cent.

increased its appeal from 8 per cent to 32 per cent amongst opinion
