Danny Baker is returning to BBC London 94.9FM after declaring live on air in May that he was leaving the station.
Baker,
who won the DJ of the Year award for his breakfast show on BBC London,
will move to the weekday afternoon show at 3 to 5pm.
“My new life
of indolence was going well until I was offered a new show back at the
old place that both intrigued and stimulated me,” Baker said.
“‘How
about’, they said, ‘coming back and doing what you do – but this time
in a way that would not require you to get up at 4.44am?’
“I must say the boldness and risk inherent in the scheme fascinated me.
Not getting up while it was still dark, eh? Those crafty, crazy mad BBC London so-and-sos…”
Baker
will return to the station on Monday 17 October, the same day that Jono
Coleman and JoAnne Good present their first breakfast show.
