The Orcadian has reshuffled its editorial team to keep up with pagination.
The
independent weekly paper for Orkney has grown from 40 pages to around
56 pages a week in the past two years and a special farming supplement
ahead of Orkney’s agricultural show will push the issue up to 60 pages.
As
part of the move, chief reporter Margaret Carr becomes senior sub/
feature writer and will deputise for news editor Stuart Laundy.
Senior
reporter Lorraine Shearer will become chief reporter and freelance
reporting coverage will be provided by former Orkney Islands Council
communications officer Dave Flanagan.
Laundy said: “We are
carrying double the amount of sport, our revamped Out and About section
runs to four or five pages, we are carrying more advertising features,
we’ve added columnists and our unrivalled coverage of local news
continues unabated.”
