Broader focus for ‘video bible’

By Press Gazette

Promo magazine, which describes itself as the music video industry bible, is relaunching this week with a new look and broader editorial focus. The relaunch issue will feature an exclusive interview with director Spike Jonze and a special report on how music videos are influencing TV adverts.

Promo is published by CMP Information, which also publishes Music Week, and serves readers such as video directors, record companies, TV broadcasters, ad agencies and film producers.

Editor David Knight said: “While staying focused on music videos, we are also highlighting the creativity that is happening in related areas such as music DVDs, live visuals and advertising.

“We are also intensifying our role as talent-spotters for the next generation of great directors in videos, commercials and feature films.”

The relaunch issue includes a DVD featuring the work of 20 new directors, with videos for the likes of Fatboy Slim, Pitman and Eric Prydz’s Call On Me.
