Future Plus, the contract publishing and creative solutions arm of Future Publishing, has announced the appointment of a new head of contract publishing and the creation of a new studiomanager position.
John Gower joins Future Plus as head of contract publishing after more than eight years in South Africa working for Primav era Publications, New Media Publishing (Media24) and running his own agency, Thinktank Media.
Gower was instrumental in developing categories and judging criteria for contract magazines in SouthAfrica on behalf of the Magazine Publishers Association of South Africa (MPASA), working closely with the UK’s Association of Publishing Agencies (APA).
His initial brief at Future Plus is to continue the growth plan started by his predecessor Rob Pegley, who has left Future Plus to emigrate to Australia.
Gower will be strengthening partnerships with existing clients and pursuing new contracts.
Also joining Future Plus is former GamesMaster magazine production editor Beth Ingram, who takes the studio manager position.
In her new role, she will be responsible for all aspects of running the busy creative studio, managing approval processes and freelance staffing levels, and liaising with clients on all editorial matters.
