Surfer mag seeks a larger pool

By Press Gazette

Surfing magazine Pit Pilot is looking for a sponsorship deal to help fund future expansion plans in the UK.

The title, set up by surfer Joe Moran in December, is backed by The Prince’s Trust and Moran’s own cash.

It is sold for £3 on a bi-monthly basis through surfing shops and bars in selected areas of the UK. Moran relies on his surfing contacts and a large pool of writers and photographers.

He claimed there was a gap in the market for a more UK-based magazine such as Pit Pilot. “Other British surfing magazines are trying to be international and all the features are about Australia.

“This is purely for British surfers and that’s why people like it,” he said.
