The Merseyside Media Network is to have its own awards scheme.
The MMN Awards, sponsored by Littlewoods, will be presented in the new year.
The awards will cover individual and team excellence across the Network’s membership, which includes more than 200 journalists from weekly, morning, evening, national newspapers, agencies, photographers, radio and television presenters and internet providers.
NMM founder-secretary Ken Bennett said: “We are finalising the specific award categories but they will be open to everyone who is a Network member. They are all about recognising the individual and team contribution members have made to the media.”
Among award categories will be one for student journalist of the year.
