News of the World news editor Neville Thurlbeck goes back on the road as chief reporter this week and deputy features editor Ricky Sutton will take his place.
Thurlbeck has been on the newsdesk for two years and before that was the paper’s investigations news editor for a year.
Sutton, 33, joined the NoW as a reporter in 1997 and became editor of its website in 2000. He was made associate news editor in the same year and deputy features editor in 2002.
The NoW will be recruiting a deputy features editor, consolidating showbiz and features. In the meantime, David Jarvis will move from his current news reporting role to be acting deputy features editor.
