New York Times national correspondent Sabrina Tavernise, who has recently been reporting from Ukraine, has been named second host of the title’s flagship podcast The Daily alongside Michael Barbaro. They will share duties, hosting different episodes per week.
Executive editor Dean Baquet, The Daily editor Lisa Chow, assistant managing editor Sam Dolnick and director of audio Paula Szuchman said in a note to staff: “Having a second host will make “The Daily” even stronger. It will allow both Michael and Sabrina to dig deeper into stories and share responsibility for The Times’s flagship show, which — as Michael himself has told us— has grown too big for one person.”
The NYT said The Daily has been downloaded more than three billion times since it launched five years ago.
