Operation Elveden officers have arrested a health care worker on Merseyside following a dawn raid.
The 28 year old man works for a health care trust and was arrested at his home at 6am yesterday morning. He is being investigated in connection with inappropriate payments to police and public officials.
The man is the 80th person to have been arrested in connection with the Elveden investigation.
The current investigation is being supervised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission and is running alongside the phone-hacking probe, Operation Weeting.
The man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy of committing misconduct in a public office. His property was searched while he was questioned at a Liverpool police station. The man has been bailed to return to the police station in January 2014 while further enquires are carried out.
