Bauer Media will next month take control of 50-year-old Car Mechanics magazine after licensing the title to a smaller publishing group for the past 18 years.
Car Mechanics will transfer to Bauer on 3 December after having been licensed to Kelsey Publishing since 1992, originally by the consumer magazines division of Emap, which was then bought by Bauer in 2008.
The first issue published under Bauer will hit newsstands on 20 January.
The magazine will continue to be edited by Martyn Knowles and will join Bauer’s motoring portfolio – which already consists of five titles – at Bauer’s specialist division in Peterborough.
Kelsey will continue to publish a portfolio of more than 15 motoring titles, which it recently added to by taking control of five niche magazines from IPC Media last month.
