Bower decides not to follow in footsteps

By Axegrinder axeblog

After my report last week that Sophie Bower, daughter of fragrant Evening Standard editor Veronica Wadley, is taking the media shilling by working for William Cash’s Spear Media in Notting Hill, I am now informed that the young Oxford graduate will not after all be making her career as a hackette.

She has, I’m told, accepted a job at McKinsey & Co, the top-ranking management consultancy. Readers might remember that this is the same firm where William Hague, one-time Tory leader, cut his teeth.

Meanwhile, congrats to bright-young-thing Eleanor Garnier (her father Edward is a Tory MP) who has just finished her year at City University and is about to embark on a career in broadcast journalism.

BBC Radio Leicester has taken her on for a trial period. We know she’ll do well.
