British public thinks journalists are heroic

By Dominic wireposts

Journalists are often derided as somewhere between pond scum and estate agents in the estimation of the general public – so it was refreshing to see a survey released today which reveals that Joe Public thinks we are rather heroic.

The MoD asked Britons who they see as most heroic. While The Sun doesn’t go into the nuts and bolts of the survey (which is not yet on the MoD press site) it reveals that 91 per cent of people rate soldiers as heroic, 58 per cent say public service employees as heroic and 34 per cent rate the bravery of journalists.

Journalists were rated above writers and authors, business leaders, creative types, Royalty, politicians, TV presenters, actors, celebrities and designers – who came last.
