Canterbury Christ Church University: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Journalism
Permanent/Part Time 0.5 FTE
£31,656 to £46,414 per annum (pro-rata if part time)
Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Journalism.
The post holder will teach primarily on BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism. The programme sits within the School of Media, Art and Design, which has an excellent quality rating and a tradition of integrating practice with theory and creativity with professionalism. The School has grown strongly in recent years, increased the professional content and relevance of its programmes, developed its links with employers and strengthened its research base.
Responsible to the Head of School you will teach print journalism and online journalism practice and theory, engage in research and knowledge transfer and undertake administrative and pastoral duties as required.
You will have and have substantial professional experience as a journalist in the UK including in online and print journalism. An interest in, and a strategy for, personal research development and an ability to motivate and enthuse students and work closely in a small team are essential. You will hold a good honours degree and a higher degree in a relevant subject OR equivalent professional seniority and experience. A professional journalism qualification would be an advantage.
