Baywatch star David Hasselhoff has won undisclosed libel damages from OK! magazine over claims that he was drunk and abusive at a nightclub.
The UK and US editions of the weekly celebrity publication have also agreed to print an apology for making the allegations.
The 3 July issue of Richard Desmond’s magazine said Hasselhoff was “off his face” at a Los Angeles nightclub after winning a custody battle for his daughters.
The former Knight Rider star said he was “pleased” with the outcome of the case.
Hasselhoff has also launched a legal battle against News Group Newspapers for libel damages over a story in The Sun which also accused him of being a drunk.
On June 19, The Sun printed a story headed: ‘Hoff is back on sway watch’which made allegations about the actor behaving in an intoxicated way.
He claims the story was defamatory, and is demanding massive damages, as well as an injunction banning repetition of the allegations at the centre of his claim.
Hasselhoff, who is also suing over the internet version of the story, is claiming aggravated and exemplary damages.
