IPC’s In
Style has poached Vogue’s executive retail editor, Sophie Hedley, to
take on the role of executive fashion and beauty director at the
magazine.
Hedley has worked for Vogue for 10 years, including
nine as executive retail editor with responsibility for the diary pages
and reader events. Prior to Vogue she was deputy fashion editor at
Tatler.
In Style editor Louise Chunn said: “We are absolutely
delighted to be welcoming Sophie. She is hugely wellknown and respected
in the fashion and beauty industry and I know she’ll be an asset to our
highly talented team.”
Hedley, who felt that after a decade at
Vogue it was time to move on, said: “I am very excited about joining
the team at In Style, a publication I have always admired and enjoyed
reading.”
Hedley takes up her new role in early January 2006.
In the latest ABC figures In Style recorded a circulation of 196,568 – an increase of 3.4 per cent year-on-year.
Vogue’s circulation is 210,333 – an increase of 2.4 per cent year-on-year.
