Digital subscriptions to The Times and The Sunday Times are set to double next month.
Those who subscribe now have been informed that the digital pack has been frozen at just £2 a week but next month it will rise to £4.
If subscribers sign up before 1 March they will pay £2 a week until 2013 for unlimited access to the times.co.uk and thesundaytimes.co.uk, iPad and Android smartphone apps, and access to The Times archive dating back to 1785
Lat week it was announced that The Times now has 119,255 digital subscribers, with the Sunday Times claiming 113,818, according to figures issued by News International.
News International now claims a total daily paid audience of 524,368 for The Times and 1,081,793 for the Sunday Times.
According to NI, an average of 59,882 copies of The Times were downloaded per day on the iPad alone in January, a 35 per cent increase in the space of six months.
The Sunday Times iPad edition was downloaded 63,959 times a week on average, an 80 per cent increase in the space of six months.
Print sales of The Times were down 11.4 per cent year on year in January to an average of 405,113 according to ABC. At the Sunday Times, print sales dropped 6.87 per cent year on year to 967,975 a week in January – again according to ABC.
