Mike Soutar, IPC's editorial director who was put on gardening leave nearly four months ago, is being released from the company to set up a new publishing research and development business.
Soutar's new venture, Crash Test Media, will begin trading on October 2 from premises in Soho. He plans to provide a unique outsourcing service to magazine publishers, providing them with teams to develop projects more quickly and effectively than they can in-house.
"We'll be able to test ideas to destuction – allowing publishers to make all their mistakes before they launch," he said.
