The independently owned Dartford Times celebrated its success in the latest round of ABC circulation figures with this cheeky front page.
Owner Kentish Times Newspapers recorded strong sales growth across its weekly titles in keeping with the national trend. Regional dailies have fared less well, with most circulations down.
Sales for January to June 2003 across all 16 Kentish Times weeklies increased by 6 per cent. The biggest growth was the Dartford Times and Swanley Times editions, which boasted a 20 per cent improvement on last year. Now selling a total of 3,531 each Thursday, sales are up by 600.
Group editor Melody Ryall said: “We’ve all worked tremendously hard to make our papers the best in each borough they aim to represent.”
In the past 12 months, Ryall has promoted senior reporters Rhona Taylor and Sara Case to the news desk and made Michael Adkins acting chief reporter at the Gravesend district office.
