'Significant' resignation at BBC

The BBC's head of current affairs and news in Scotland has resigned in what the NUJ has called "one of the most significant resignations at the BBC since the Hutton affair".

Blair Jenkins, who joined the BBC in 1980 as a news trainee, made his announcement only two days after the corporation learnt that staff are to ballot for industrial action over pay, pensions and job cuts.
