Susan Windram has been appointed editor of the Selkirk-based weekly newspaper, the Southern Reporter .
Windram, 41, began her career as a reporter on the free weekly Edinburgh Herald & Post and in time rose to the position of editor.
She then moved to the Edinburgh Evening News as a sub-editor.
For the past eight years she has been a sub-editor on The Scotsman , latterly in features, where she has been production editor of the paper’s Saturday magazine.
Windram replaces former editor Willie Mack who resigned in a flurry of publicity after a series of dummy captions disparaging members of the local community found their way into print on the Southern Reporter .
The Scottish Borders weekly is part of the Johnston Press group.
