Cardiff University has awarded five scholarships totalling £7,000 to budding journalism students.
Kerra
Maddern, a student on the postgraduate diploma in journalism studies,
newspaper option, has won the £3,000 Julian Hodge scholarship.
Keeley
Bolger, postgraduate diploma in journalism studies, magazine option;
Rebecca Thomson, postgraduate diploma in journalism studies, newspaper
option; Karl Necke, postgraduate diploma in journalism studies,
broadcast option; and Natasha Gifford, diploma in public and media
relations, have each been awarded £1,000 Tom Hopkinson scholarships.
The
scholarships are awarded annually to postgraduate students in the
School of Journalism, to help them with the cost of their course.
