The Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe, has threatened to take the News of the World to the Press Complaints Commission.
Sutcliffe, who was convicted 25 years ago of murdering 13 women,
is unhappy about a story headlined "The bloated Ripper" which showed
how much weight he has put on in prison.
His lawyers have written the NoW saying the story has casued
him "distress and anxiety" and threatened to go to the PCC if the paper
does not apologise.
A NoW spokesman said: "This is a ludicrous claim. We stand by
our story, which was accurate and in the public interest. He's got fat
chance of winning."
