By Press Gazette

A memorial service for former Fleet Street financial journalist Ray
Heath is to be held at St Bride’s church on Tuesday, 8 February at
11.30am.

Heath, who died aged 59 in October in Hong Kong after a
battle against cancer, started his journalistic career with the Daily
Express, where he became assistant city editor.

He moved to the Financial Weekly newspaper as features editor and subsequently became editor.

He
then worked on the Straits Times business section in Singapore,
returned to London as a financial writer on The Times and also
co-launched Equity International , a specialist financial magazine.

He returned to the Far East in the early nineties to run the South China Morning Post’s Business section.

Until a couple of years ago he was the London Evening Standard’s Far East financial correspondent.
