Mail remains top after June dip for nationals’ websites

All national newspaper websites audited by ABC saw their website traffic fall in June after a bumper May.

The biggest faller was The Telegraph, whose monthly total was down 17.8 per cent on May, followed by Mail Online which fell 13.1 per cent.

Mirror Group Digital had the best performance with a fall of just 6.7 per cent month on month in terms of its monthly total, while The Independent was down 11.3 per cent month on month.

Mail Online remained the top UK national newspaper website with just over 67 million unique browsers, according to ABC, down from 77.3m in May. It had just over 4m daily browsers compared with second-placed Guardian.co.uk’s total of just over 2.6 million global daily browsers.

MailOnline: 4,062,059 (up 63.4 per cent); 67,110,048 (up 55.6 per cent)

Guardian News and Media: 2,613,405 (up 28.3 per cent); no monthly total this month

Independent: 625,999 (up 27.1 per cent); 13,513,040 (up 27.6 per cent)

Mirror Group Digital: 730,296 (up 38.4 per cent); 14,708,075 (up 31.5 per cent)

Telegraph Media Group: 1,921,711 (up 8.2 per cent); 36,457,713 (up 8.4 per cent)
