Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan has become the latest sports personality to dabble in journalism as he joins Telegraph Media Group.
Vaughan will write a cricket column for The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph and will also star on Telegraph TV with player profiles, batting tips and reminiscing over the 2005 Ashes.
In August this year the Telegraph hired former Chelsea manager José Mourinho to write a British football column on both its daily and weekend titles and fellow former England cricket captain Michael Atherton has a regular column for The Times.
The group has also promoted its Formula One correspondent of five years, Kevin Garside, to chief sports writer.
Skipworth added: ‘He has been a first-class Formula One correspondent and did a brilliant job for us during the Beijing Olympics as a general correspondent.”
Kate Laven has been promoted to Sailing Correspondent, r reporting on all sailing events for The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph and TCUK. Peter Bainbridge has been made deputy head of sport Production.
