A new bi-monthly sci-fi magazine, Alien Worlds, launches its first print issue and new website this week, reaching out to those interested in extraterrestrial life.
The Manchester-based 88-page glossy, published by Alien Worlds, will have an initial print run of 15,000. It will be stocked in WHSmith and Borders, priced £3.99, and will also have a global reach – available internationally in stockists such as Easons and Barnes & Noble.
Editor Stuart Miller is the sole journalist working on the publication, the rest of the editorial is produced by freelancers.
Miller said: ‘The birth of Alien Worlds reflects the growing current interest in the subject of life on other planets. There has been an overwhelmingly postitive response to the launch. A community often labelled as geeks and oddballs have been given credibility by recent developments in NASA’s space programme, and new Ministry of Defence documents emerging from Freedom of Information requests.”
