Liz heads East for some adventure

By Press Gazette

Bedfordshire on Sunday’s deputy editor, Liz O’Reilly, is swapping middle England for the Middle East.

She will be joining editor Stan Szecowka as deputy of Gulf Weekly, Bahrain’s English-language newspaper.

‘I love a challenge and the Middle East is the place to be at the moment

– and I like living on the edge,’said O’Reilly, who previously appeared on Channel 4’s 10 Years Younger, in which a team of experts attempt to take years off someone’s age in a few weeks.

Szecowka said: ‘Liz is a quality journalist and will help me guide our young team of enthusiastic reporters to greater things.

‘I’m also hoping she’ll give me some tips about looking 10 years younger too.”

Szecowka is currently running a photographic competition in Gulf Weekly, in which the first prize is a job as a trainee news photographer on the newspaper.

The paper is looking for a talented young Bahraini to work alongside chief photographer Sophie Middleton. Entrants have been invited to send in their best photograph and a caption, and the winner will secure an 18-month trainee contract.
