An ambulance technician accused of being a “secret vice girl” and taking part in group sex sessions has had her complaint against the News of the World rejected by the PCC.
Sheree Chambers, from Alton, Hampshire, said an article headlined “999 blonde is secret vice girl” breached five clauses of the code.
Chambers claimed that quotes attributed to her were inaccurate and said a journalist misrepresented himself and used clandestine listening devices. She denied that she had unprotected sex at alleged parties, said her privacy was intruded and claimed to have been harassed by a photographer.
The NoW told the PCC Chambers was a prostitute who charged for sex and that it had tapes to back this up. It said she ran a website which showed her performing explicit sexual acts without condoms and denied that the photographer had harassed her.
The PCC decided that the NoW had sufficient evidence to back up its story and said that there was public interest in revealing that an ambulance technician was “compromising her sexual health in such a blatant way”.
