The Bolton Evening News has launched an appeal to raise £3,300 to buy a special wheelchair for a local threeyearold girl, Madison Shaw, who has spinal muscular atrophy.
The Money for Maddy appeal also hopes to raise enough cash to buy a £4,000 custom-built bath.
The newspaper had raised £1,400 within a few days of launching the appeal. It is organising events and offering tickets for two on the Orient Express and a pair of boots worn by Bolton Wanderers’ international star Jay-Jay Okocha.
