Operation Elveden: Met officer arrested

By Press Gazette

Officers from the Met’s investigation into illegal payments to police by News International journalists have arrested a 52-year-old officer from the force.

The woman was arrested at 6am this morning at a residential address in Essex and is currently in custody at an Essex police station.

She was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office and offences contrary to the Prevention of Corruption Act 1906.

This is the eighth arrest under Operation Elveden, which is being supervised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
