Joanne O’Connor, currently deputy travel editor of The Observer , has been appointed the newspaper’s new travel editor.
O’Connor joined The Observer in 2000 after being features editor at Travel Weekly . Roger Alton, editor of The Observer , said: “Joanne has made an outstanding contribution to Escape and she will continue, as editor, to play a key role in developing the section. A very well deserved appointment.”
O’Connor has said she wants the Escape travel section to reflect the ever growing variety of ways in which Britain spends its leisure time.
