The Chronicle and Echo in Northampton claims it was the first newspaper in the country to break the story of last week’s earthquakes.
News was posted on the paper’s website at 1.15am and was updated over thenext three hours.
Dozens of locals called the newspaper’s offices in the middle of the night to share their experience with reporters
Lincs Radio presenter Rob Hammond was live on-air when the earthquake occurred and spent the next three hours with administration manager Anthony Edwards and group director of news Sean Dunderdale fielding phone calls and more than 500 text messages from the public.
A full local news service continued through the night with extended morning news.
