No such thing as a free lunch at Telegraph

Not content with the £90m expected profit from the £200m sale and lease-back of the Telegraph’s Victoria offices, the Barclay Brothers are apparently trying to save a few shillings at their flagship title.

Word reaches Axegrinder of an expenses crackdown which has seen four members of staff dragged over the coals by a senior executive.

Apparently some detective work has revealed that certain restaurant receipts were not what they seemed. The journalists concerned have been told to pay back the cash, plus any other fraudulent claims, or else face dismissal.
