No injunction preventing Sun from naming rock star with alleged illegitimate child

By William Turvill

The Sun has revealed that its decision not to name a British rock star who has allegedly fathered an illegitimate child was not because of an injunction.

The Sun Sunday published details (see below) of the unnamed star’s alleged one-night-stand with a “pretty writer in her 30s”, who was reportedly tracked down in New York.

The singer is described as “one of the most recognisable faces in music” and an “internationally famous figure”.

The Sun, and other titles, have chosen not to name the star. But it reports a source as saying: “The reality is, the truth will emerge. And my God, will there be fireworks.”

A Sun spokeswoman said the reason the singer cannot be named is not because an injunction. But she added that no more details could be revealed at this stage.
