Norman Wynne, a former chief northern football writer on the Sunday People, has died aged 77.
Wynne, who started his career on the Daily Express before moving to the People in the mid-1960s, died after a fall at his Salford home on Tuesday. A respected writer, Wynne was secretary of the Northern Football Writers’ Association.
As The People noted yesterday, he covered north-west sport for more than 25 years – despite being a Londoner and avid Spurs fan.
His funeral was held on Thursday.
