The News of the World has become the latest News International title to launch a paid-for application for the iPad.
The Sunday redtop launched its new app yesterday allowing readers to download the full newspaper – including its Fabulous magazine and its football pull-out Score.
The app also provides additional videos to help bring the paper’s news and features to life.
Download of the first edition of the app is free, however future editions will cost £1.19.
Rachel Richardson, digital editor of the News of the World, said: “The iPad app is yet another way our readers can experience the News of the World every Sunday, wherever they are.
“It is perfect for a lazy Sunday morning reading at home, or if you’re out and about you can download and read the paper offline, while you’re on the go.
“This has come just in time for any readers hoping to receive an iPad this Christmas, as they’ll be able to enjoy the Boxing Day edition of News of the World on Sunday December 26 without even leaving the house.”
Launch of the NoW app follows the launch earlier this month of a paid-for iPad app for the Sunday Times.
News International relaunched the website of the News of the World and introduced a paywall to the title in October as part of Rupert Murdoch’s plan to change all his newspaper websites to paid-for access.
