News of the World ad campaign focuses on breaking stories


News of the world Big storiesThe News of the World is highlighting its ability to break exclusive news stories in a new advertising campaign set to run ahead of the introduction of its online paywall next month.

The News International title’s ‘The Big Stories Start Here’ campaign focuses on number of significant exclusives the paper has broken in recent weeks.

The TV and outdoor campaign goes live this week and features a selection of the paper’s biggest exclusives from John Terry’s affair – which led to Terry being stripped of his captaincy ahead of the World Cup – to Sarah Ferguson being caught on camera demanding cash for access to Prince Andrew.

Barnaby Dawe, marketing director for the News of The World, said: ‘This month alone, the News of the World has brought readers the inside story on the Pakistani cricket team and exclusive news of Ricky Hatton’s cocaine shame. 

‘This campaign celebrates the News of the World’s unparalleled reputation for delivering incredible revelations, week after week, year after year.”

Outdoor advertising will appear across the UK from Monday 27 September, with TV breaking on Wednesday 29.  The ads have been created by WCRS with media planning and buying by Mindshare.
